Your plan and subscription

This is about what your co-op pays HomeschoolGo. It’s separate from the fees your families pay your co-op. Plans are managed on the website only, not in the mobile apps.

Open Settings

Where your plan lives

Go to Admin › Settings. The HomeschoolGo subscription card at the top of the Co-op tab shows your plan, its status, and the next date that matters.

The card on an active plan. During a trial it shows the days left and a Choose a plan button instead.

The account owner sees every control on this card. Another admin can start a subscription only if the owner has given them the Manage subscription permission.

The free trial

A new co-op gets a 60-day free trial with the Essentials features. Plus features are visible but locked. You don’t need a card to start, and a trial never turns into a paid plan by itself: nothing is charged unless you subscribe.

In the last two weeks, a reminder with the days left appears at the top of every page. If the trial ends with no plan, your co-op goes read-only. Nothing is deleted, and members can still view classes, schedules, and the Families page. Owners and admins can still reach Settings and Members, so you can subscribe from there.

Subscribing

1On the subscription card, click Choose a plan.
2Pick Essentials or Plus. Plus adds online payment collection and text messaging. The pricing page lists everything in each plan.
3Pay at the Stripe checkout with a card or, where Stripe offers it, a US bank account.
Note: Plans are billed once a year, and your first year starts the day you pay. Days left in your trial aren’t added on, so there’s no need to subscribe before you’re ready.

If you type in bank details by hand, Stripe sends a small test deposit within one or two business days and emails you a link to confirm it. Your plan switches on once the deposit is confirmed.

Renewal

A paid plan renews by itself each year. The card shows Auto-renew on and the renewal date. The account owner gets a reminder email 30 days and 7 days before that date, with a link to manage the subscription.

To update the card on file or see past invoices, the owner clicks Manage subscription, which opens Stripe’s billing page.

If a payment fails

The card shows Payment failed, and a banner asks you to update your billing details. Use Manage subscription to do that. If the payment is still overdue after 7 days, Plus features are limited until it’s paid.

Changing plans

During a trial you can choose either plan, and nothing is charged until you subscribe.

Once you’re paying for a plan, HomeschoolGo has no button that changes it. If your co-op already has a subscription, Upgrade to Plus and the other plan buttons don’t start a second one. They show a message asking you to contact us instead.

To move to a different plan, email hello@homeschoolgo.app and we’ll change it for you. If you’re already paying for two subscriptions, contact us about that too.

Cancelling your subscription

Cancelling means turning off auto-renew, so your plan ends at the end of the year you’ve paid for rather than renewing.

1On the subscription card, next to Auto-renew on, click Turn off. Only the account owner sees this.
2The card now says Auto-renew off and shows the date your plan Cancels. Everything keeps working until then.

Changed your mind? Click Turn on any time before that date. After it, your co-op goes read-only, the same as after a trial, and the card offers Resubscribe. Your data is kept for 90 days in case you change your mind.

We don’t refund unused time.

Tip: Turning off auto-renew doesn’t delete your co-op or your data. To have your account deleted, see deleting your account.
